The Prophet Muhammad

The prophet Muhammed is a very important person in the faith of Islam.  Muslims bel;ieve that he was the final prophet sent by God (Allah in Arabic) to show the world what God is like.  His name can be spelt as Mohamed, Mohammed, Mahomet or Muhamad, but Muhammad seems the most common way to spell his name.  Muslims almost always add a blessing after his name which is written  in Arabic.  It means "peace be upon Him", pointing to the great reverence and respect Muslims have for him.
