They are mainly homophones  (words which sound the same but are spelt differently).  There are also some common words which we often make mistakes with. Group 3 - Kodie, Millie,   These words are the most common ones that we use in our speaking, reading and writing.  They are mainly adding -ed and -ing to verbs.   There are also some common past tenses which donít obey the rules - like eat and ate. Group 1 - Ella, Scott, Jack  Group 1 - Ella, Scott and Jack You did so well last term learning the really tricky spellings that you had.  Well done!  There are more of those hard spellings this term.  You need to remember them in your writing as well.  There are going to be some of the interesting words this term which I would like to see in your writing.  They are called synonyms - words which mean the same ( or almost the same) as each other.
